In settings, there is an option 'Enable AirPlay "Videos" and "Pictures" support' (SETTING_SERVICES_AIRPLAYVIDEOSUPPORT). Enabling this setting activates the AirPlay server (in addition to the AirTunes server, which is controlled by the main setting). However, when Kodi is compiled without AirTunes support (--disable-airtunes), like on Debian, the AirTunes server will never be started, so by disabling the AirPlay server, effectively the entire AirPlay functionality is turned off, while the setting 'Enable AirPlay support' (the main setting) is still enabled.
This is obviously very confusing for the user. I suggest adding some explanation or feedback in the user interface when Kodi is compiled without AirTunes support and video/pictures support is turned off.
