AZ:FA Slideshow on Home page
#1
I've upgraded to Kodi Jarvis 16.1 and AZ:FA
I'm trying to setup a photo slideshow on the Home screen, using about 50 photos in a folder.
I have gone to SETTINGS / Skin Settings / Home / Set slideshow path .....and pointed to the photo folder.
However, nothing happens...home screen stays blank.
Am I on the right track?

Off the top of my head, the process you did should have set the slideshow. Let me take a look at what's going on. I've been on Krypton for so long I have to get reacquainted with Jarvis. Will get back to you.

I am posting a link to files you will need.

Place all files in your 16x9 folder of the skin. Please Backup files before copying the new files.

Note: Go in to SkinSettings> Home> Set the Fallback Widget You will be able to select Single or Multi-Image for the Slideshow on Home Screen.

Let me know if there are any problems.

I did not forget about you. Trying to finish up something on the Danvers side of things. I will probably get to look at your problem later in the day. Will respond back when I have more information.

One file (string.po) goes in you language/English folder, the rest go in your 16x9 folder. Please backup before copying the new files.
Hope this helps, had a time tracking down all code associated with the slideshow. I think I got everything. Let me know if anything is missing.

It works for me. The only thing is the aspect ratio, which I forgot to change. Made correction and works well. No more zoom effect. I will send you my "shortcuts" folder, and the correct Include_Home.xml. When working you should be able to set Fallback Widget to images, and have slideshow instead of Fanart checked.

Will post a link to files tomorrow.

All files except "overrides.xml" go in the 16x9 folder. The overrides.xml goes in the shortcuts folder. Please backup before copying.
Let me know if you run into problems.

Unfortunately, nothing seems to have changed from the results I got in post #7.
I have done it several times with the same results.
I also deleted the skin and re-installed it (just to be sure), applied your latest files and got the same results as in post #7.

Is it possible for you to create a zip file of the complete skin containing your new update files, then I can re-install that instead?

Meanwhile, I have reverted to your first update again, where it allows me to select or change the slideshow path.

Thank you for your effort.

We're going to release a final update to the Dormer AZ:FA line for Kodi Jarvis fairly soon.

I have just installed the latest release for Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes 3.2.40 (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2450764)
I'm very happy to tell you that the aspect ratio for slideshows on the Home Screen is now correct. Smile

Unfortunately, the "Fallback widget " path cannot be set or changed.

Out of curiosity, I took "Custom_WidgetSelect.xml" supplied previously by @minus0 (https://azfapatchsets-northebridge.s3.am...Dormer.zip) and replaced the original in the 16x9 folder.
I can now set or change the "Fallback widget " path.
I just have to see if this change is going to upset anything else.

Also, is there a way I could remove what looks like an overlay on the home screen images, because they look a bit soft.
The same images played in a slideshow from the "Pictures" menu are clear & sharp.
Thanks for your effort & help.
