Which recommend right now better for the Nvidia Shield 16GB (2n Generation) Kodi 16.1 or 17? Thank you

Is there any USB3 raid enclosure which will work on the shield. It would be great if one could utilize the Shield as NAS too.

SPMC. It's based on Kodi v16 but works much better on Android.

What are your problems with stable krypton from PlayStore?

For me it works completely stable. Since the update to nougat, spmc made some trouble while watching LiveTV with 50Hz.

Have you tested it yet? My Nexus Player has not updated yet.
No, waiting for the update on both my Shield units as well.

It finally showed up on my Shield this morning. Looks pretty cool so far.

I'll 2nd that. For the really high bit-rate 4K files I get much better results with SPMC. No idea why. 6 months ago pure Kodi worked better for me than SPMC. I'd like to be on Krypton for the PVR "use channel numbers from the backend" implementation as I can use the favorite channels feature of the Harmony remote.

Yeah, I'd like to be on Krypton too. For me, primarily due to the excellent new Estuary v2 skin.

For me, I'm a die hard Confluence fan. I just love that I can get to everything I want so quickly. (creature of habit)

Got the update... it's great, except I hope they allow two things soon:
1. Ability to record to mounted NAS location
2. Ability to extract recordings, especially copy-free OTA stuff (recordings are hidden somewhere in the root system)

Looks like I can almost eBay off my TiVo now.

Yep, works pretty well. Though it requires at least 50GB of internal (or adopted) storage to use the DVR feature. Not a issue on my Pro, but on one of my 16GB Shields that only has 32GB adopted storage it means I'll have to update to a larger SD Card or SSD. That doesn't affect timeshifting though, which still works even with less storage.

I wouldn't care so much about being able to copy OTA recorded files, but a feature I do hope they add is being able to access recorded video from multiple devices (Whole Home DVR).

Unfortunately, it's still not a replacement for my TVHeadEnd backend, but at least it's getting closer.

I'm upgrading from 64GB to 500GB SSD (via SSD-to-USB3 adapter), but looks like there's no easy way to migrate to larger adopted storage... other than moving each app & its data back to internal, ejecting old storage, adding/adopting new and moving apps/data again.
