I've had this issue for awhile.. but it seems if you leave kodi running.. in my case on my 4k tv, set to 4k full screen mode under windows 10.. and then switch inputs on my hdmi selector switch (or previously with the hdmi receiver).. if you return to the HTPC, the screen is black.

The only way to get kodi to come back is to execute the button on my remote that fires off a batch file to kill and reopen kodi.

Does anyone know of a workaround to this, or why it goes black on switching?

DId you apply the pin trick at the point of entry to the card or at the other end.. guessing it may not matter.. did it affect anything else?

Did you also try the registry trick?

That thread seemed inconclusive from what i could tell, is why i'm wondering

I didn't bother with the registry hack. I put a thin sliver of electrical tape over pin 19 on the card end and it's worked flawlessly for over a year now and hasn't affected anything else at all. Super easy, painless fix.
