When i logged on to kodi today, i rec'd a msg that i'm running krypton 17.1rc and that i should upgrade to 17.1 stable. My question is can i install an upgraded version of kodi and still have my addons and settings be intact and unaffected?

Yes, you should be able to install over the top of your existing installation and, all going well, nothing should be affected.

I can't stress enough how important it is to backup your Roaming\Kodi folder.

f you downloaded Kodi from this site and manually ran the installer, you will find it here...
C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\

Thanks, Blossom! I saved my kodi folder on a remote server, so i'm going to give it a whirl.
