Running Kodi 17.1 with Windows 10

I normally leave Kodi running on my media center PC. As new programs are added to my folders they do not show up under TV shows until I manually go to the right sidebar and select 'Update Library'. Alternately, I could shut down Kodi and restart it manually.

Is there a way to set the 'Update Library' function to run automatically a few times a day?

Look at the watchdog addon in the services section of the official repo.

There's also library auto update in the program addons section, which is almost exactly what you describe.
