Occasional audio 'blip' in video playback
#1
Windows 10, Kodi 18 Beta 3 - Sept 18, 2018 64bit

I have recently upgraded from Kodi 18 Alpha to Kodi 18 Beta 3, and I have begun to experience a 'blip" occasionally in video files and streams. It happens about once an hour, and nothing shows in the logs. The best I can describe it is a momentary beep where the audio will 'stick' for a second. The video is unaffected.

Nothing appears in the log (even debug log) when it happens.

It occurs when viewing any files or streams and is very random. The same files and streams play without the "blip" in VLC and WMP so I am certain it is not an issue with the file, stream or my hardware.

If I go back to Kodi 18 Alpha, it does not happen.

Thanks

I have tried Direct Sound  and Wasapii in Beta 3 and it still happens.

Has anyone else experienced this effect or has an idea what it might be caused by.

I on occasion will get this gliche when streaming You-tubes and chalk it up to network issues (I get this on Android and PC hardware, it's not Kodi specific) reminds of OTA when an airplane passes. Your hadware could be close to threshold, check out some of the keyboard tools (o) to look for bottle necks. https://kodi.wiki/view/Keyboard_controls and of course you could try settings to sync playback to display.
