Movie libraries not updated on startup
#1
Configured media setting to update libraries on startup.  Worked for a while.  But now it does not.  Selecting "Update Library" inside of a movie library also does not work. Going to the root file folder, select "Scan for new content" does update the library.

Tried disable setting, restart, enable setting. Not sure what else could be tried at this point.

This worked (as far as I remember...) on nVidia Shield running Android 7.  But now with Shield running Android 8, Kodi does not update movie libraries without being forced.
Could be a Shield problem but seems more like a Kodi vs Android 8 issue...?

Any ideas?  TIA!!!

Please provide a Debug Log which captures the problem.

should add:
  • restarted Shield
  • launched Kodi
  • went to movies, selected "Update Library"
  • went to file content folder, selected "Scan for New Content"
  • back Home
  • copied and uploaded log

Ok, but you did not enable Debug mode, so not enough detail is shown. But from what I can see, I am guessing your sources are not set up correctly.

xml:
2019-10-16 20:03:44.218 T:8887 NOTICE: VideoInfoScanner: Starting scan ..
2019-10-16 20:03:44.559 T:8887 NOTICE: VideoInfoScanner: Finished scan. Scanning for video info took 00:00

Debug mode might show more detail.

Hopefully because that is exactly the problem. The scan does not actually run.
  1. This was all working fine until recent update to Android 8
  2. Sources, as currently configured, provide content when "Scan for New Content" directly from the source folder

try this again: https://paste.kodi.tv/geqifulese.kodi

same thing:
  • restart Shield
  • launch Kodi, enable Debug log - no new moviews
  • go to Movies, select Update Library - no new movies
  • go to Files, 4K content folder where I just added some files, Scan library for new content - 3 new movies

OK.  My bad.

Looking at the log see content is not in library.

Checked settings.  The content was excluded from the library.  Vaguely recall messing around with settings trying to organize according to my liking. Must have left things configured wrong...

Thanks for listening
