DD5.1 output for Sonos Beam?
#1
I have a bunch of movie files with DTS or Atmos audio. I am trying to play them on my Nvidia Shield that's connected to a Samsung TV that's outputing to a 5.1 Sonos system. Sonos only supports DD5.1, so if I'm understanding things correctly, I need Kodi to transcode the audio for me. I've done a search on this and the answers usually mention changing the number of audio channels and enabling AC3... but I don't see any transcoding/AC3 options anywhere. What's going on? I'm running the latest version of Kodi from the Play store.

Set Settings Level to Expert
Set speakers to 2.0 (!) <- without this it won't appear
Enable AC3
Enable Dolby Transcoding
Disable all other PT codecs
Samsung can only "forward" AC3, it does not understand anything else.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
