I am not really sure what you are asking.
You can see that the thread you linked is very active and work is ongoing, so why are you posting a Feature Request for it if it is already being developed?

Try it. Maybe you can answer your own question. Latest Builds.
The Kodi UPnP Importer in builtin. Enable it Settings>Services>UPnP and add imports Settings>Media Sources. The repo for the Plex and Emby importers are included but disabled, enable the repo and install one or both. You could test all three on the same install.
