You always have to enable a file name schema for an image type AND a scraper that supports that image type to get an image of this type:

Seems like it would be simpler to do this automatically than having users wonder why it not working.
Because users use different file names and want to use different sources for image types. Simpler means less options to set what you want and Ember always was a tool that tries to provide a lot of customization in exchange for "ease of use".

thanks for screenshot

I don't think that "ease of use" means less option.

Programs should be intuitive or at least point/lead users to what else that they need to do after they enable a setting to get it to fully work (e.g. tooltip explanation or user manual or whatever that tells them they need to do more for that setting to work).
There's no way a new user would know that you need to go to a different settings page + add filename page, in order for the setting to work (ie no explanation or intuitive).

Many programs + operating systems also have settings and advance/expert settings for novice and advance users.

You could automate enable landscape checkbox in that Kodi interface + filename = landscape.jpg (kodi default filename as mentioned) setting when a user enables landscape scraping checkbox.
People who want to change the filename or whatever can still edit that filename to whatever they want.
OR at least have some message that appears that tells them they need to do this.

The options still exist for the advance user,
but it also helps the other users who don't know about this.
