Kodi on RPi5 since yesterday "Stillframe detected" and "Read - Error" issues
#1
Hello All,

My setup is the following: I have a QNAP NAS connected to the Telekom Router + Kodi connected to Telekom router (both wired 1gbts) Kodi is connected via HDMI to an AV Receiver, then the receiver is connected to the TV. I had no issue so far to watch DolbyAtmos 7.1 4k HDR10 content from Kodi until today.

Now I have no clue what happened, but all items (4K, 1080p, 720p, SD content) stops after certain time. Of course 4K stops like 20-30sec after start, SD content goes for like 1-2 max 3 mins. I checked the connection bandwidth in the QNAP APP, it goes up like 1-40mbtis (depending on the content) as I start the film, then it drops dramatically, after that Kodi stops. According to my knowledge, no updated (FW, whatsoever) happened on QNAP NAS, Kodi, Router side. It is killing me because after sever hours of testing and debugging i can only think it is a joke for 1st of May Big Grin

Here is the part from the log where I found the error:

I am thinking of a network issue, but which side?

I tested and I can stream from QNAP NAS over TV without any problem. All movies are played.
I do not have Router reset, or any other issues, all wired cables are exchanged (not solved anything, so i put the old ones back)
It all content are affected not just high Gb content?

Here is my cache settings:
<cache>
<buffermode>1</buffermode>
<memorysize>239460608</memorysize>
<readfactor>10</readfactor>
</cache>

Kodi 20.3 with Libreelec 11.0.6.
4Gb RPi5

For me the really strange thing is that I am using this setup since months now, never had any issue, now today all of a sudden nothing plays normally Big Grin

Does anybody has any additional tips or tricks what I can try to sort this out?

Thank you for any advise!

I tried today morning a file transfer over wifi SMB from QNAP to Laptop.
It went without any problem and here is how it looked like from the APP (the bandwidth):
The drop at the end is the end of the file transfer

Same file started to watch on Kodi (20 Gb file size, 4K, HDR, Atmos):
the drop to zero is the area where Kodi comes back with the error, freeze screen and sound and stops the movie.
