Some items does not play over ftp
#1
I have been using XBMC for years now first on my old xbox and now on a new apple tv.

I am however experiencing some problems with the ATV. I have been "streaming" stuff from a friends ftp server for several years without any problems on my xbox. With my ATV however, some of the items will not start. The xbmc log refers to the item "skipping unplayable item". The exact same items starts right away on my old xbox (where by the way xbmc has not been updated for probably a couple of years).

If I download the "unplayable item" to a computer at my home and play it through an smb share there is no problem with the file for the ATV either.

Does anyone have any clues to what this might be?

I am running:
ATV OS 2.3
XBMC Atlantis (updated today)

Here is some more detailed information from my log (There is however a lot of debug log, so I am not sure if this is the most interesting part:

I've done some more testing and experienced the following:

I've installed an ftp server (vsftp) on my desktop running Ubuntu. My friend is running FileZilla on a Windows server. I downloaded some of the "problem-files" from his ftp server and placed them on mine. When I try to stream them from my ftp server I am having problems with the exact same items that I had problems with streaming from my friends server.

As I said previously playing them over smb works for the same files so I guess there is nothing wrong with the files.

Is there really noone that has a clue on this one? If someone wants a test file, please PM me.
