Shows custom overlay icon set by Python Plugins

Lightbulb
Hi guys,

i discovered lately the possibility to show an overlay icon (compressed, trainer, watched, unwatched, locked) by setting the info label 'Overlay' Wink

How complex it is to make this feature more generic so that an arbitrary icon (even with a prerset format/resolution) can be set Huh For example to mark the origin of googlevideo clips (youtube, dailymotion, etc..) Big Grin It is better than exploiting the title for this purpose.

Are there already other approaches to accomplish this Huh

I would like to see this feature too (if it isn't already possible).

Very useful in plugins for all the examples sfaxman posted below, plus marking full vids, clips, HD, etc.

Could also be cool in emulator plugins where you have a full list of games, then an overlay indicated what emulator/original system the game is for.

It really depends on what the skinner wants is the problem.

Do they want a single overlay image that changes as it does now, or do they want multiple conditions to show various overlays as they want.

Or do they want both :p

Cheers,
Jonathan

Then more "communication" with the skin is needed. For example the plugin can already set the sorting methods Nod In the same manner it should have the possibility to tell the skin that a specific overlay icon has to be displayed... that a specific info has to be accentuated (producer, rating... whatever).

What the skin do is another story Cool A "good" skin should then "profit" from this "guideline" because the plugin "knows" which infos are scraped/meaningfull to be showed (many quotation marks for one post Laugh)
