That hang is "normal", it's the timeout that sets in, however could somebody post a debug log with this hang? (and if it ends early)

just a quick test, it seems to work this workaround.
if in longer term use problems occur i will report back, thank you for fixing it.

Well the real bug isn't fixed.. but it atleast won't deadlock xbmc now.

Okay, i had reversed a calculation before, so yes the playback would always end early. That should now be fixed and i've added some logic to make use of buffer notifications for detecting buffer underruns.
The risk however is that those are inaccurate for some audio cards, so maybe it will get worse for some :/, let's hope not.

Forgot to mention that i'm qute sure it's fixed. The sample helped alot (although abit questionable content). Turned out to be video that actually locked up the last seconds, so it didn't actually miss the audio at the end, the video was just stopped while the sound played, then the video started again.

Im using SVN 17696 and it seems to have the same effect where the sound cuts out at the last second. The video still closes fine at the end but the last second of sound is missing. Am I an isolated issue?
