Can't get normal playback speed
#1
Please help before I throw my HTPC out the window (and I'm normally a calm guy)!

When I start a movie in XBMC it plays too fast (or too slow) whether it's a DVD or an xvid. The rewind and fast forward buttons works fine but I'll never get the normal playback speed. It's not the same issue when I run mplayer outside XBMC, that work ok.

Looking at the docs for mplayer I've tried using the '[' and ']' to change the playback speed to no avail. Is there any way to clear some cache in XBMC to prevent it from remembering the last used playback speed or something?

Using:
Ubuntu 8.10
2.6.27-11-generic
XBMC 8.10
Asus P5N7A-VM (Geforce 9300 built-in)

Thanks in advance!

Problem solved. Turned out to be alsasound that was causing the problem after I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.28-11. Reinstalled alsasound 1.0.9 and the problem went away.
