I suggest a distclean and do a full compile.

In your config file it says TVOutFormat is COMPOSITE.

What brand and model of TV do you have ?
I've never seen a TV that can do 1080p on the composite input. My TV only does 1080p on HDMI and this is the most common thing. Might be possible on component as well,but actually I've ever only seen it on HDMI.

That might be why it doesn't work.Try using HDMI.

I use PPA SVN packages. Mybe thats the problem. Xrandr compiled different computer. In wattazoum's package ModeLines.xml have different mode id's.
Code:
<modeline id="ATSC-1080-60i" label="1080i/60">
           74.25 1920 1960 2016 2200 1080 1082 1088 1125 Interlace
        </modeline>

        <modeline id="ATSC-1080-60p" label="1080p/60">
           148.5 1920 1960 2016 2200 1080 1082 1088 1125
        </modeline>
i chance with my xbmc-xrandr query id's:
Code:
<modeline id="0x1d3" label="1080i/60">
           74.25 1920 1960 2016 2200 1080 1082 1088 1125 Interlace
        </modeline>

        <modeline id="0x1d4" label="1080p/60">
           148.5 1920 1960 2016 2200 1080 1082 1088 1125
        </modeline>

oh.sorry about that I didn't notice it was hashed out.

What TV do you have ?

I had some problems with 1080p on my TV and in the end I had to make a modeline in order for it to work properly. Apparently something to do with the EID in the TV being wrong and only reporting 720p capability. Struggled a lot with that,but got it working in the end :-)

hi all, i have an lcd tv that is 1080p and my computer is connected to it

on my desktop the resolution is 1024x768, if i have anything higher the writing gets smaller so things are harder to see

should i be able to set an option for 1080p in xbmc? and if i can will i be able to watch 1080p movies and have the 1080p quality? or will my desktop being 1024x768 prevent 1080p quality

i dont see an option to set 1080p in xbmc, i only see an option for 1080i

what is the auto option for, does that automatically detect your max screen resolution or does it auto detect desktop resolution and play everything in 1024x768?

thanks

I believe this is an old post but I do not have a 1080p option either. I have tried all the suggested options in this thread with no success. I have a insignia 47" LCD that does support 1080p. I see the mode at the end of xrandr -q. I am using a DVI to HDMI cable and the TV is the only display. 1920x1080@60hz works fine, but crashes if I have auto adjust refresh rate enabled and try to play a 1080p movie. Thanks for any help that can be given.

Hi!

I have a Sony 40W4500 and got 1080p working. But only when playing videos.
I went to the global video settings and checked "fit framerate" (?) (I have german version, here it is "Bildwiederholfrequenz anpassen".

So, if I switch to fullscreen video, my TV says 1080p. Back to XBMC -> 1080i.

I have to do this, in case without i have jerky video output.

Regards,
Patrick
