No 1080p setting in screen options?
#1
Hey guys just had a interesting thing happen and had a question... I've been using a 1080i TV ever since I first started using XBMC and I've been using the 1080i setting in the screen options. I've just recently bought a 1080p TV (today) and now in the screen options I no longer see 1080p... all I see is 1920x1080 and another option for 1920x1080 (full screen)... I know is the resolution for 1080p but why would it no longer actually list '1080p' as an actual option instead of just the resolution? Am I missing any qaulity or missing anything else by having it set to the resolution instead of it saying 1080p? Is there a way to fix it? I have an Nvidia geforce 8800GTX card and in the display settings for windows (Vista) I have it set to 1080p and 60hz...
I remember that Macs and Apple TV's had an issue with being set to 720p or 1080p etc... and you had to use the resolution (full screen) option but I've never seen it in Windows... ANYHOW where do I go from here?
I'm using the default version of XBMC on the front page... 8.10 Atlantis I believe.

No, the fullscreen res is fine. Those TV res settings are legacy from xbox and will likely go away at some point in preference for resolutions your HW actually supports (sans goofy marketing names ofc).
