AMD 5050e and video stuttering
#1
Howdy ho!
My first post, here it goes:

When playing 720p/1080p mkv-m2ts movie clips playback randomly stutters and cpu usage is 80-95%.
When I reboot the pc and play the same clip, cpu usage is only about 40-55% and no stuttering or frame drops for the whole movie.

Also I read about deleting XBMC.../userdata folders and this trick has also helped for some time, until deleting again and creating settings all over again.

Is there a permanent fix or is this issue adressed in upcoming 9.04 version?...
(playing with bsplayer all clips are fine)
K-lite newest codecs and nvidia drivers installed.

my htpc specs:
AMD 5050e @3Ghz / 4GB DDR800 / Asus m3n78-vm GF8200 / 1TB hdd / PT-AX200e projector / XP32 SP3

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Have you tried one of the latest SVN builds? Could be that the problem was already fixed.

If latest SVN doesn't help then: Are there any other applications in the background which might be using much CPU?

You should post a debug log if the problem persists.

My XBMC sysinfo says: XBMC 8.10 SVN: unknown (Compiled: Nov 13 2008)

There are NO extra applications in the background hogging resources, just clean install of XP SP3 and system drivers + XBMC
Looks like I´m not the only one: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=648465

but in my case there´s a difference, my menu navigation is ok, sometimes the videos just get jerky, there a more similar cases like mine.
My hardware should be adequate playing 1080p stuff.
