XBMC = drop frames?
#1
Hi all,

Recently I got a new 40" Sharp E77U and I tried to use it as a monitor connected with my HTPC through HDMI port of GTX 260. My system is Ubuntu 9.04 64bit.

If I want to do anything else other than XBMC, such as surfing web, working with terminal etc... everything is fine. But if I start to use XBMC (browsing movies, watching movies, browsing settings... anything), I do have very frequently dropping-frame issue. It is like the signal is out of dropped for like half of second (blank - black screen) and then it shows up for a while, and then is out again... and again. There is not specific time between two adjacent drops, it happens just randomly.

My question is: Is that something about the setting I have for XBMC (resolution, rates...) or is this a problem of XBMC? Also note that I did not have this problem with my old TV (connected through S-Video component and in low resolution 1024x768).

Thank you in advance,

D.
