GUI horizontal tearing/white lines
#1
Running xbmc 9.04.1 on Ubuntu jaunty 9.04 with a geforce 6600 and proprietary nvidia v. 180 drivers. Video plays fine.

I get strange horizontal 'left-over' white-line tearing in the GUI after menu animations or selections fading in and out. Windows mode Screenshot included below, but this happens in fullscreen and at any resolution - any idea?

That's not tearing. Looks like corrupt GFX memory. I'd swap the card or at least upgrade drivers.

I forgot to mention this does not happen with xbmc live nor windows. I'm using the Ubuntu-recommended nvidia v. 180 drivers. You think the newest 185 drivers from nvidia's site may help?

Ps. Thank you for the fast reply - I greatly appreciate your help!

You should check your refreshrate. I had similar issues with fonts and found out that the default screen resolutions did not work for me. I had to define my own modelines in xorg.conf.

For anyone else having a similar issue...

This was resolved by removing the following line from xorg.conf
Quote:Option "NvAGP" "1"

That, unfortunately, breaks suspend to RAM... O the joys of Linux!
