Hello,

Tried searching, but haven't been able to find the answer. If this was already covered, please point me to a previous discussion.

I'm buying a PC that comes with Vista Business 32bit with downgrade rights to XP Prof 32bit. The PC has 2 GB RAM, but I can expand it to 4 GB if that would make a big improvement on Vista.

So, from performance/compatibility standpoint, is it better to run XBMC on XP rather than Vista, or vice versa?

XP would use less resources but that computer is plenty powerful enough for Vista and XBMC.

I just bought a similar Acer for a dedicated HTPC but I really like Windows 7 so I wiped Vista off and used W7, everything went smoothly.

Thanks. I might hold off until July 1st... then I'll get free upgrade rights to W7.
