Hi,
I followed the guide at

to install XBMC on arch. It took hours. I had the following problems that were solved after going over and following the arch installation guide at 4.2 and 4.3

Error 1

Code:

-bash: startx command not found

I added this command to the last line of /home/xbmc/.bashrc as the guide required.


Error 2

Code:

Error: unable to open display
XBMC needs hardware accelerated OpenGL rendering.  Install an appropriate graphics driver.

I installed nvidia-utils and nvidia from yaourt as the guide recommended, except it was not the beta driver.

Comments
The guide was very comprehensive, but there were some typos and other errors. However, I cannot edit the page (fair enough) nor can I add a comment to let other users know of the error. Is there some other way of making suggestions for the guide?

Are you trying to have your system boot right after login? If not, you can stop right after 'make install' from the "Manual XBMC-SVN" section and just type 'xbmc'.

If you want to improve the guide in the wiki, ask for "Ninja" status.
