XBMC Live 9.04.1 - Music plays too fast
#1
Dear all,

I have recently successfully installed XBMC live on a SD card using the Acer Aspire Revo (Intel Atom with NVIDIA Ion). I use HDMI audio output to a Yamaha AV receiver.

Everything works really nice; however, I have one severe problem: XBMC plays mp3 files about 10% too fast, which is really annoying. This is not the case for videos. I have read that this may be connected to the 44.1kHz to 48kHz issue, but I am not sure.

Is this a common problem? How can this be solved?

Best regards

use "plug:hdmi" as default output device, not just "hdmi"

Thank you - the problem with the speed has been solved by "plg:hdmi".

However, there is now a new problem: if I try to switch to the next song, the systems tells that it "failed to intialize the audio device". I have to wait until the play of the current song is stopped and then I can switch to the next one.

Best regards

BIG THANK YOU!

Definitely solved my problem on my acer revo.

My roommate with perfect pitch came in as I was listening to some classical music in A... Immediately said something was wrong.

it is case-sensitive: plug:hdmi - not Plug:HDMI

I realize I'm digging up an old thread here but I'm having exactly the same problem using HDMI. I've tried setting Audio Output to "custom" plug:hdmi but upon restart there is no sound. I have options like ATI HDA HDMI or HDMI

At the top I can choose between Analog, SPDIF, or HDMI, this is set at HDMI of course, as that is what I'm using.

Like the OP I'm using XBMC Live
