[Linux] Audio and Video skipping around.
#1
Using a build of SVN 21824 on Ubuntu 9.04 (all patches applied up to 07/21/09)

Fresh install, only use for this system will be for xbmc.

i686, installed from svn with ./configure and make -j2.

When I play an mkv (h264 video, mp3 audio) it randomly plays the audio fast, then the video goes fast to catch up, but this occurs throughout the playback of the clip. Tried an xvid (mpeg4, mp3 audio) and the same problem occurs.

An example of the errors that occur in the log file while the audio/video is skipping:

While the video plays the FPS jumps to ~40-50, and occasionally the CPU hits 100%.

Here is a full log of playing a bit of an mkv music video with debug turned on.

Hardware Info:

Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq 5880B [AudioPCI] (rev 02)
VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C51G [GeForce 6100] (rev a2)
model name : AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3400+
cpu MHz : 2210.084

I know the hardware is a bit outdated, but it should be adequate for the videos I'm attempting to play.

Using totem everything plays fine with about 65% cpu usage with the HD content.

Let me know if any further information is required.

Thanks!
