[LINUX] Problems installing XBMC
#1
Decided to try out XBMC on my HTPC. Ive been running MCE for years but I felt I need a change.
Did a normal installation of ubunto 904 witch when pretty smoothly apart from some problems with the graphics (black screen of death I think its called Smile which worked around by swapping from DVI to VGA)

After the installation was compleat i did a full update of the system and succesfully installed XBMC through the Synaptics Packet Manager.
But not to the problem - XBMC wont start Sad
When i try to run it i get
Code:
mediauser@mediapc:~$ xbmc
/usr/share/xbmc/xbmc-xrandr: cannot find mode 0x102
X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request:  1 (X_CreateWindow)
Serial number of failed request:  21
Current serial number in output stream:  22
CRITSEC[0x120a528]: Trying to enter destroyed section.
CRITSEC[0x120a528]: Trying to leave destroyed section.

Whats wrong?
Ive messed with Linux quite a lot before but as it is prob. +5 years ago - please tell it to me like im a 2 year old Smile
