Adjust Refresh Rate = No Audio + Slow Motion
#1
I am hoping someone can help me with this chronic problem. Enabling the adjust refresh rate option does not work for me on 24p material. The video plays but the audio is muted and the framerate slows down and changes from 15fps or less to 24 fps - it's highly variable and is contantly changing. When I change the Windows desktop resolution to 24 hertz and restart XBMC, the video plays great - including the audio. But this work-around isn't great since I also have NTSC material I need to play at 60 hertz.

Hardware/software details:
1. XBMC 9.04.1 - repack 2
2. Windows XP sp3
3. NVidia 9400 w/ 190.38 driver
4. Intel e8400 cpu
5. 4 GB ram

Here is the debug log:

Here is another debug log with the Windows desktop running at 24 hertz:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I have found that if I go into the audio settings during video playback, and toggle analog/digital or just toggle on/off the "output stereo to all speakers" setting, the audio plays fine from that point, as well as the video framerate changes to normal. Note that I am not changing the final audio setting, but just toggling it from digital to analog, and back to digital. This is strange. Have I found a bug?

Can anyone offer any guidance? Thanks!

I've been having a similar problem with a 9400gt as well. I found it was only with 29fps material where the video would drastically stutter and the audio was way off. 24fps videos played fine

I don't have a debug log yet as i'm just trying to update xbmc and drivers and such
