Unable to change RSS feeds
#1
I installed XBMC under Ubuntu 8.04 the other day - what a great package.
Everything has been very straight forward and worked flawlessly except for my ability to change the rss feed.

I have edited RssFeeds.xml in userdata to no avail. I have looked at home.xml as one post suggested but see no line for feeds.

Any ideas.

Which userdata? See ~/.xbmc

File in /usr/share/xbmc/userdata.

you could also use the RSS Ticker Script which is available using the SVN Repo Installer. With this script you can change the feeds within XBMC.
When posting about a problem please submit a debug log to give you the best chance at getting an answer. It's easy, painless, and helps provide necessary information.

I will try the RSS Ticker Script, but am just curious why editing
/usr/share/xbmc/userdata/RssFeeds.xml per the XBMC Manual does
not work.

Because the one in ~/.xbmc/userdata overrides it.

Thumbs Up
Thanks everyone. Editing in the ~/.xbmc/userdata worked.
