Figuring out what build I am at
#1
I did my install a few months ago on Ubuntu and have had pretty much zero issues with my xbmc, but I keep hearing about new features and would like to get them so:

a few Questions

How do I figure out what build I am at.

How do I backup my xmbc so I can try some of the new builds

How do I apply a newer build.

If all this is in FAQS, feel free to link them, I'm not quite comfy with my linux to know if was getting the answer I need

Thanks

The System Info will display the current version of XBMC (Easily access through the Shutdown Menu, or the Home screen.)

You can back up your XBMC by backing up the ~/.xbmc directory.

Easiest way to update your XBMC is through the PPA, otherwise compiling is the only option. I wouldn't suggest updating at the moment becuase some things are completely broken in the current SVN.

The Wiki is kind of like an FAQ. http://wiki.xbmc.org Lots of stuff there.
