dumb question around scripts/ plugins
#1
A dumb question - do I need to be running the SVN version of xbmc for scripts/ plugins to work?

I'm running the stable version of xbmc on top of Linux Mint, with xbmc installed from the ubuntu Jaunty repos - everything is working brilliantly, except plugins and scripts don't seem to execute.

If I select a script, I can see the debug message along the lines of

-->Python Interpreter Initialized<--

But nothing else, i.e. nothing seems to happen

Any pointers? Apologies for the dumb question!

A debug log would be helpful in finding your problem.

IMO, the SVN build are pretty stable. So I would recommend updating the the latest build.

Cheers, I'm all sorted. The problem was several fold:

1. I was looking at the scripts/ plugins under /usr/share/xbmc, hadn't realized that there was a set under ~./xbmc (which is probably the right way to change things)
2. The example scripts/ plugins under /usr/share/xbmc were zipped, and seemingly need to be unzipped to work?
3. I've gone on the SVN build, too, and seems stable

So problem resolved!
