I've installed XBMC on my working Mythbuntu 9.04.
In MythTV all audio is working perfectly, connected through S/PDIF to my receiver I'm getting PCM, DTS, DD from mplayer, VLC and mythtv.

On the same box however, XBMC is playing audio only in movies (DTS, Dolby Digital) but any PCM or Music (MP3 - PCM) is just giving me "Check your audio settings error"

Audio settings are set to Digital, ALSA:default, default. I've also tried OSS ..same issue. DTS,AC3 OK, but nothing else works.

The ticks in the menu work.

I there a more granular settings possible for each type of codec?
Something like for mplayer one can setup automatic fail-down like HWDTS, HWAC3, AC3, ?

These are some of the errors from log file
Code:

Any hints where to look appreciated. As I said, mythtv, mplayer, vlc on the same box have absolutely no issues.
...but I'd love to switch to xbmc Cool
