Is there any way to get older builds of xbmc to recognise the recent change to tvdb so that it will load thumbs from the new episodes?

Ok, here is the lowdown. Apparently, thetvdb.com changed their website around and all images are under thetvdb.com/whatever instead of images.thetvdb.com/whatever

For all older pictures, images.thetvdb.com still work, but not the new ones. Thetvdb scraper is set to look for images under the old format but you can easily modify your scraper settings if you don't want to upgrade to the latest revision after the merge.

Find the file tvdb.xml under xbmc\system\scraper\video\ (in win32 that is, I don't know about others)

Edit the file and replace every single "images.thetvdb.com" entry with "thetvdb.com"

You can easily do that in 10 sec with Notepad using replace.


From then on, every episode you add should come with the thumb. For the ones you added before and got no thumb, just refresh and it will appear. For new seasons started with no season thumb, highlight season and enter series info through context menu and refresh, select no for refresh all episodes.
