Swifty Wrote:Try the following for the EPG problem;
Close down XBMC and remove the MyTV.db file:-
(sudo rm ~/.xbmc/UserData/Database/MyTv.db) - The location may be slightly different, I do not have an XBMC box in front of me at the moment..
Then try installing the eepg plugin for vdr:-
(sudo apt-get install vdr-plugin-eepg)
Now reboot or restart VDR and give it a few minutes to scrape the EPG and then open XBMC.

Fixed it! Thanks!

Alwin got it working on win32 as well. I've created an installer:

Download installer
Download Plugin

Enjoy!
Running XBMC on my HTPC, tablet, phone and pinball machine.

Thanks Freezy, I've added the links to the first post so they don't get lost.

rdoac Wrote:My compilation was on linux I'm afraid. I noted the issue with ffmpeg on windows and linux, but only resolved it with linux as I didn't care enough about windows... Sorry, I don't really use it..

Hey Rdoac, could you elaborate more?

I've got a working vdr setup going in linux, but I can't get the xbmc-pvr front end combo working. It will detect the channels, but it'll never play anything. I've tried freezy windows package and the latest one listed in this forum in linux.
Same result.
I'm trying to play mpeg2 back.
It works fine using vdr zapper, http/vlc on streamdev port 3000

I'm going to guess it's the same issue you reported?
How did you fix this?

Thank you

When I compiled it, I got a version of ffmpeg from about 6 months ago. Then compiled it with --use-external-ffmpeg

I also set my timeout to 30 seconds as it seems to take up to 10 seconds for channels to come in and I have some iptv channels which take up to 30.

Guys,

Can anyone from you help mi with compiling v4l to technisat skystar hd2

I have plenty of errors:

/usr/local/src/s2-liplianin/v4l/radio-miropcm20.c:20:23: error: sound/aci.h: No such file or directory

or in mantis:

/usr/local/src/mantis-v4l/v4l/tuner-xc2028.c:55: error: 'FIRMWARE_NAME_MAX' undeclared here (not in a function)

I'm using live beta version.

Does this still works with the RC1 Huh

Hello Jalokim, please edit your /usr/local/src/s2-liplianin/v4l/.config
file to set the trouble drivers to equal no, n.
Ex.
CONFIG_RADIO_MIROPCM20=n
instead of
CONFIG_RADIO_MIROPCM20=m

You'll have to do this for a few of them and then should be good to go, it'll compile.

Good luck.

i have xbmc pvr and vdr 1.7.10 working so far. but i have a very strange problem:

within xbmc it shows me a list of channels and always the same no matter what i put into /etc/vdr/channels.conf.

even if idelete that file i see that channels and it also loads th epg data on start up of xbmc. if i have the channels.conf deleted and i rty o actiet a channel in xbmc it tells me source cannot be play backed (ourse).

but how it dint show me the channls i actually have in the channels.conf? does xbmc save a channel list itself elsewhere? i tried to delete .xbmc in my home but no effect regarding this.

bisch, it worked Wink now i'm trying to force xbmc to use vdr Wink as in Confluence i cannot see tv....

EDIT

:/ when trying to scan channels:

root@noname:/usr/share/dvb/dvb-s# scan -o vdr -a 0 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/Hotbird-13.0E > /chann.conf
scanning /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/Hotbird-13.0E
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
main:2273: FATAL: failed to open '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0': 2 No such file or directory

wtf ?

EDIT 2:

when doing:
modprobe mantis, dmesg returns:
[ 772.428897] mantis: Unknown symbol ir_codes_mantis_vp2033_table
[ 772.429391] mantis: Unknown symbol ir_codes_mantis_vp2040_table

Yes, you can also try removing or renaming the file ~/.xbmc/userdata/Database/MyTv.db1

@jalokim,

What do you see in /dev/dvb ?

You could also try using this PPA which has liplianin s2 pre-compiled; https://launchpad.net/~gda-dachsweb/+archive/vdr

Thx this worked. it was due to vdr automatically scanning for new channels.

but now i have a different problem. not sure if i shall post it here or open a thread for it. here a brief description of the issue:

so far all seems to work quite stable except one thing:
if i watch tv and switch to fullscreen mode and then try to change channels (by channel up or down key) it does not work and the playback freezes. if i do it too often whole xbmc freezes.

if i switch back out of fullscreen before its frozen and i select a different channel, then pressing enter to actually switch to the channel xbmc freezes.

if i don't do that but instead try to quit xbmc (after i tried the fullscreen channel switching) xbmc freezes.

i could provide a log file if wished.

edit: changing channels from within the list works without problems. even if i try to switch to a channels that does not work (e.g. an encrypted one) it does not cause any problems.

edit2: here is the logfile http://pastebin.com/m33aeb22f
shall i better open a new thread?

p.s. there is a second issue not so important. i have four render modes in the settings available: arb, glsl, software and the vdpau. as i have an ati 3300 onboard with the newest catalyst 9.11 driver vdpau obviously does not work Wink. software and arb work nice. but glsl has a strange behaviour: its as if it is only one single pixel rendered but filling the whole screen or the whole screen has the avg. color of all pixels. basically the whole screen is only one single color and flickers.
