I am looking to replace my xbox with something more powerful.

My requirements are :

remote control
HDMI out with 1080p

running on linux preferred.

If anyone has any recommendations please let me know

One of the Asrock ION's....I have the ION300 and it works perfect. It actually even looks much better in person than the pictures.

I just bought the AsRock ION 330 1.6 and overclocked it to 2+ Ghz.

I reused the Xbox Remote and DVD dongle. Works great. I can take some compairson shots if you really need them since they sit nearly on top of each other on a shelf. Wink

do you mind taking a photo ?

Also do you run it on top of linux or do you run the xbmc live ?

Thanks!

Yea those acer revo type computers look like the replacement for the xbox...if they're going for $200 now I wouldn't be suprised if in a year they're 150 or 130.

I bought a Leveno ThinkCentre M mini-pc which is a dual 1.8ghz Intel Chip. Its about the same size as a Xbox1 (http://shop.lenovo.com/) black and comes with a Intel X450/300 graphics card which supports 1080p via a DVI>HDMI cable. 2 PCI slots also mean you can throw in a 5.1 sound card what ever else.

I use a Bluetooth USB dongle along side a Wiiremote to control XBMC confluence beta1 running on top of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.
