How to update from 9.04 to Camelot [might be dumb question]
#1
Hello,

happy new year first of all.
I know this might be a dumb question, but I have not been playing too much with the 9.04 (Babylon) stable version of XBMC, but what I have seen is very promising.

However, I worked a lot on the library etc. so I do not want to loose all that.

So my question is, what is the intended way to update from an older XBMC stable version to the latest and what happens with the existing library and special settings like paths, advancedsettings.xml etc ?

just install the new version - db etc will be updated to the new version. note that this means you cannot go back to 9.04 - if you want to keep that option open, make a backup of the xbmc catalog in the uhrr, /users/<yourlogin>/Library/xbmc iirc (don't quote me on the last one).

thanks for the quick answer. Does that mean the db's are still intact but will only be updated ?

So no need to de-install or remove the old XBMC ? Just take the .dmg file and intall ?
