hello that is my first at this board

i cant find an answer by use the search function (mybe i search for wrong terms), if so don´t tread a noob.

i want connect a xbox with a imac so i can play all medias on each other's equipment.

my two xboxes i own are connected by using a router via ethernet, they recognize eachother automatically if xbmc is running on both consoles.

now xbmc is installed on the imac and the ethernet cable which usally connect the xboxes is plugged into the imac.

ftp connection with cyberduck works so i can copy files.

which preferences in xbmc (imac & xbox) i have to set & where i find them to play medias from eachother device?

if there is an noobfriendly (untechnically) answer i would be very grateful.

the best would be the two devices (imac & xbox) recognize eachother if xbmc is run of them, like the two xboxes.
