[LINUX] Apple TV 1080p output
#1
I recently installed Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.4 LTS on my AppleTV following this guide.

Everything works great, much snappier interface, etc. Now, I'm having problems getting 1080p output in XBMC. TV reports 1080p while linux is booting, however once X starts it drops down to 720p. I've tried the steps outlined in this thread to no avail. Is that thread applicable to Linux on the AppleTV? If so are there any gotchas I should be aware of?

TIA for any assistance.

What do you get in Xorg.log?
I'm not sure to understand if you managed to follow the thread you mentioned or not. Did you see a "1920x1080" valid mode?
Except the xbmc-live script, the steps look quite generic.
You just need to exit XBMC to be able to manually run X.

You can try to pastebin your xorg.conf and Xorg.log.
xbmc.log: /Users/<username>/Library/Logs/xbmc.log
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
