I have found a simple solution for windows SMB, instead of clicking Windows network(SMB), you scroll down and click add network location, leave it set to SMB add the server name, and folder share, user name and pass, don't click browse! When you add it it will add it to the list, look up a few.

Thanks for all the advice - after rewiring my flat i finally got it all working.
Next step i thought was buy more storage and use the usb slot on the mybookworld. Simple so far... then added some media to the new drive and found it on XBMC - however it will not play it and there seems to be issues even copying stuff onto new drive.
Anyone else got one nas drive working with a second one attached to the NAS drive via usb??
