Quick Hardware question
#1
I've been running XBMC on ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard with ECS N9400GT-1GDS-F (9400 gt chipset) video card. Everything is great and I get great 1080i playback. This week I noticed browsing my movies in Xperience skin and video playback audio was constantly out of sync. I did some checking and then slapped my head for being an idiot and not checking the video card. It was the fan on the video card not working. Never had this issue with a card's fan going this fast before, only 5 month old card.

Note to anyone seeing 100% cpu (I saw it on both my cores) first thing to do is check the video card heat and fan.

I'm going to play and see how the onboard HD4200 radeon does with the setup.

But beyond that here's my question - My friend gave me a Zotac 9800 geforce 9800 gtx about a month back just because he didn't want it sitting in his house anymore. I could put that in and run with it but after looking at this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_PureVideo I'm thinking of picking up this card off of Newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814134085 to future proof myself.

So what are some opinions? Should I just stick with the Zotac or move up to a newer chipset?

go for the 220 not the 210, 220 better deinterlacing, On the otherhand, the 210/220 will get hotter then 9400. But you will do just fine with the 9400 for some time, in a year or so you can alway get a 220 real cheap ;-)

When I was out today I found a good deal on a 210 and just spent a heck of a time getting the audio working through HDMI, but I finally did.

I just tried a 1080 video and it is playing fine on the 210.

Would I see that much of boost from the 220? Some here claim the 220 has better audio.
