Abnormally slow playback, log and file included
#1
XBMC: r30898-trunk (DXVA2)
Windows 7 x64 ultimate
Acer Aspire Revo R3610 (Intel Atom 330, NVidia ION, 2GB RAM)

Problem: Naruto Shippuuden episode 162 (subbed by Taka fansubs) plays abnormally slowly. All other episodes by the same sub group (e.g. 161, 163) play fine. The file plays normally in MPC-HC on the same machine.

First 10 seconds of the episode can be downloaded here: (3MB)
http://www.mediafire.com/?km0zeyakkon

Log file for playing the above 10 second clip here:
http://pastebin.com/y7dYMzA3

I just noticed that log file has a lot of ffmpeg "partial file" errors, probably due to the dodgy way I chopped it. Nevertheless the 3MB file above is still useful as my XBMC still chokes on it.

Here's the log file for playing the full file:
http://pastebin.com/EuFgC1Am

Hope I've submitted enough info, happy to help debug this.

No love? Sad

Just installed the latest DSPlayer build and using DSPlayer (play using -> dsplayer, since I don't want it as the default yet) works fine. Definitely a bug in XBMC code somewhere...

Was there any resolution to this?

Taka's sub of Shippuuden episode 150, 159, 162, 164, 185, and 187 all suffer from this issue.

I submitted ticket 9636 a long time ago but to no avail. Tried building the latest revision (35694) but the problem still exists Sad

Just wanted to mention that I'm having the exact same problem, with those exact same files. Actually, 187 plays fine here, but 189 does not. Hope to see this resolved sometime in the future.

Sounds like an encoding issue...

The encoding used in the problematic episodes certainly explains part of the issue, but decoding is the bigger culprit since external players like VLC and MPC-HC can play the files fine.
