Trying to get plugins to work
#1
I'm trying to install the IPlayer plugin from http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-iplayerv2/ on latest SVN XBMC.

I have been trying to follow instructions on http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=HOW-TO_insta...ns_in_XBMC .

When I click "Browse" there is no "Plugins" option I can select.

I tried untarring plugins into ~/.xbmc/plugins/video (or just dumping the intact archives into that directory), but they do not appear to be found.

Also extracting the SVN repo installer plugin into ~/.xbmc/plugins/programs does not seem to work.

Trying to add plugin://videos/ as a video source says it can not contact remote host.

Latest is no version Smile If you're running a very recent copy of XBMC, you'll have to wait for the older plugins being converted to add-ons as the old plugins are no longer supported. There are wiki pages for the new add-on system as well.
Always read the online manual (wiki), FAQ (wiki) and search the forum before posting.
Do not PM or e-mail Team-Kodi members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules (wiki).
Please read the pages on troubleshooting (wiki) and bug reporting (wiki) before reporting issues.

OK, running r31682 from last night.

IPlayer plugin was released on the first of July. The page I linked to claims compatibility with "VERY new" XBMC and and SVN XBMC.

Does untarring plugins into ~/.xbmc/plugins/video/ not work any more as the instructions say?

Antz did you do a search for BBC? This thread (especially the last 5 pages) will show you how to get it set up and working. Enjoy mate.
