I haven't done any XBMC development before but i'm looking at creating a script or plugin which will run whenever the user selects 'Play'
Ideally it will be definable for which library it occurs under (ie only movies) and have actions for when the user presses pause, stop or when playback ends.
The aim is to use python to trigger a C++ app (my main skill set) so i can use ethernet control of a PLC for lighting.
I can't find where the documentation is for attaching scripts to triggers such as playback start/end etc Is it even possible?
As a side note, the Home Theater Experience plugin would have been ideal however due to political problems looks unlikely to be integrated or have it's development continue.
