Wonder if anyone thinks this would be a good idea, and could create it cause I've never done scripting.

There seems to be a lot of movement in recent skins to having sort of mini hubs for each content type rather than going straight to list, so when you go to movies you see recent movies, random movies, most watched etc. displayed.

Was trying to think of a similar idea for actors and is quite hard as quantity of films and date added isn't always a good measure due to number of actors per movies and no definition of importance of parts.

Thought it would be cool to have a script that would display the starmeter top 10 from imdb http://www.imdb.com/chart/ when actors highlighted so you could see what actors were popular at the time then go and see what movies/Shows of theirs you had in library.

dunno if that info is scriptable or if anyone else would want it?

could possibly be extended with artists for music using billboard top 10 or similar?

Because of the ridiculous big list of actors I have, I wanted a way to be able to list only popular actors.
I thought of using some list on the Internet like you did, but immediately dismissed the idea because such a list is biased and would focus on actors you don't even like and may leave out others you do.

A quick glance through that iMDB-list confirmed that thought. IMHO half of the list can be dismissed as totally uninteresting.

I therefore made another feature request. It will sort your library and use the amount of movies they played in as a key. Using only the movies in your library.
It will show many of your favourite actors on top.

The feature request has already been coded by Galvanesh and I'm happy to use a beta-version with it.

It may be something you are after too.
