Addons - the big question?
#1
Sorry for the dramatic title but I know this is something that a lot of us skinners would really like to know.

Will we be able to use the Add-on name before Dharma?

I had hoped Changeset 35234 system.addontitle(id) was the answer but not quite because it needs the actual add-on folder name as the id - ie system.addontitle(plugin.video.apple.movie.trailers.lite) - and using Container.FolderName doesn't return the folder for some reason. No

So if we can get Container.FolderName to work for add-ons then it's just a case of using $INFO[system.addontitle(Container.FolderName)] for it to work.

Here's hoping. Wink

Thanks.

I was just about to ask if anyone figured out a good way to do that type of addon name breadcrumbs..

Well this request thats been excepted should take care of it http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/10313 but unfortunately none of thats going into dharma

Much like r35234, r35235 already in dharma are pointless without r35252 r35506 r35507 that didn't get put in

dharma just took too long so hopefully eden will be out soon enough

But isn't it actually a bug that Container.FolderName doesn't work for Add-ons?

And once working our problem is solved?

Do you need me to make a trac bug report?

Shame this ticket didn't get fixed for Dharma. Sad

It's a shame a lot of the addon stuff didn't make it into dharma like being able to launch them in a common way and selecting them based on sub type and being able to fetch their icons and names Sad

cheer up guys. ;-)

i guess we all had our own 'bugs needed to be fixed' wishlist.
but since we're not doing any of the coding, who are we to complain.

besides we wouldn't have seen dharma final for another couple of months,
if all our favourite bugs had to be fixed first.
