Cheap SSD question
#1
Greetings!

I have a question to ask if i may, conserning ssd's.

The drive will only be used for the os of an ion box with the intent of Xbmc , which will be ubuntu mainly but possibly a compressed lite version of windows 7.

So onto the question,
Would it be acceptable to buy and use this

Over this.

I understand that there is little difference in price for a higher performance drive but I'm really tight on money this month and would appreciate the advice.

I am not an expert on SSDs... but I have heard a lot of good things about the controller in the Vertex series of SSDs. I would probably lean towards that drive, but I understand that money can be a problem.

I bought a 32gb Onyx on Black Friday to test how well it works for advice to people. I have had it in my main rig since then (not only doing XBMc but also sick/sab/couch) and it has worked perfectly in Ubuntu.

Save the money, get the Onyx. All OCZ SSDs are good for the task.
