XBMC 10.0 won't start on Ubuntu 10.10
#1
hey guys I've installed "Dharma" 10.0 on my windows computer and it works (most of the time)

but I'm trying to create my HTPC using linux. I've used linux for about 6 months now, and I'm still trying to pick up on how all of this works... I've used mac before and delved into Unix a little bit so I'm not afraid to "Get my hands dirty"

anyways here's what I've got...

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick on an old HP
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 2.66Ghz
1 Gig ram
i686

I installed XBMC 10.0 "Dharma" using the PPA method.

whenever I try to start XBMC using the GUI "Applications -> Sound and Video -> XBMC Media Center" nothing happens...

so I tried to start it using the Terminal typed "XBMC" (No quotes, I'm a newb but not that noob...) and got this message

Quote:adam@Ubuntu-Bob:~$ xbmc
params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file "/home/adam/.smb/smb.conf":
No such file or directory
params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file "/home/adam/.smb/smb.conf.append":

here's the crash report http://pastebin.com/wkA5P0Kv

please help!
