Hello,

I just updated my ASROCK ION to XBMC 10.0 and purchased a new TV. Im trying to get the sound to come through my HDMI cable, so far i have no audio at all. I have gone to the system settings and set audio output to HDMI, Audio output device to hdmi, and pass through to hdmi. So far no audio for any shows and no audio when clicking around the dashboard.

I installed using the live iso.


Any help would be appreciated.

run alsamixer and make sure the relevant devices are unmuted - they need to show oo and not MM
make sure you scroll right using -> to see all the devices

I had this problem at my parents - I don't remember the exact settings, but I changed the sound device to something like plug:hdmi and then it worked - I can check during the weekend...

please try this solution from the wiki:

Please note, I only had to part of this so you might want to try this from the top down and i also did not have a "Master" settings, but that was no problem at all.
