So I did a fresh install today of ubuntu 10.10 than installed xbmc 10 and the menu is a bunch of lines and/or distortion that changes when the mouse is over. I tried removing the package and reinstalling and have the same issue. Any ideas?

From home screen in default PM3 skin...

1. Open the shutdown menu (Red icon at bottom right)
2. Chose "System Info" (Left most menu item)
3. SVN Revision is at the bottom of each page (XBMC SVN: #####)

It's in the log, don't worry about it.
Start xbmc in a terminal with "xbmc --debug", press \ to make XBMC windowed if it's not already, press printscreen to make a screenshot with gnome, exit XBMC and post ~/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log on pastebin.

thanks everyone for the help I know its been a couple weeks, had all kinds of work related issues and no spare time so I messed with it today for the first time. Sure enough removing the package and reinstalling again and it worked fine. There have been a few ubuntu updates since so maybe it was related to that.
