in the newest version of xbmc, the feature unfortunately has not been included... do you see any chances that it will be in included in a future release@jhsrennie?

The problem is that XBMC already uses a large part of the alphabet for functions e.g. P = play, X = stop etc. It's not that hard to make unused letters jump in a listing, but there aren't that many unused letters so without a major change to the XBMC key mappings the change isn't much use.

that is true, jhsrennie, but that solves the problem that were not messing up with the key mapping of existing users - so no protests to be expected. on the other hand, implementing this gives the possibility to use all letters to directly jump to the desired letter (p -> p) and to modify the keymap in a way that pause is triggered by CTRL+p - as it is done by most ohter programs...
