DTS audio in MKV
#1
Hi,

I just found a weird problem with one of my mkv files. The file contains two dts streams with identical format. However only #1 can be played, #2 produces crackling and noise over the sound (but can still hear the sound behind it).

Any ideas how I can fix this? :confused2:

there could be 50 different reasons. None of them really pointing to a XBMC issue. Out of curiosity only, post the entire media info summary...

Here's the rest.

The strange thing is, that I just tried Plex (which is usually the one bitching with DTS audio) and there it's working just fine. So I guess I'll just have to live with it for now. Sad

Hmm...my initial thoughts was a possible DTS-HD lossless core track got converted to a DTS track incorrectly/accidentally; as that would cause the same issue. Typically you wouldn't have 2 identical DTS tracks in the same title binder.

Is it just me, or is this simply because one audio track has German audio and one has English. Can't you just remove the one track and move along Huh

Of course I could remove the track, if I did not want to keep those two languages for all my files, and even more important, if I wanted to get rid of one it's the German track I would get rid of, not the English one, which unfortunately is the one that's not working.

However since it's working in Plex and VLC, I don't want to get rid of the faulty track as long as I don't have a better encode Wink

Maybe I'll try to reconvert the track some day, or I'll just rerip it lossless next time. I am slowly changing my library to lossless anyway.
